Georgetown, 6 de octubre de 2017. El Presidente de la República Cooperativa de Guyana, David Arthur Granger reiteró la firme condena al terrorismo internacional, en solemne ceremonia conmemorativa del Aniversario 41 del Crimen en Barbados, la cual fue celebrada en el monumento erigido a las víctimas en la Universidad de Guyana en Georgetown.
El Embajador cubano, Julio César González Marchante, en nombre del gobierno y pueblo cubanos, reafirmó la inquebrantable voluntad de lucha contra el terrorismo y recordó la exigencia de que se ponga fin a la impunidad de que sigue gozando el terrorista responsable de la explosión en pleno vuelo del avión de Cubana de Aviación, el 6 de octubre de 1976, que provocó la muerte de sus 73 ocupantes.
El mandatario guyanés y el embajador de Cuba colocaron ofrendas florales en el monumento a los caídos. También lo hicieron el cónsul honorario de Guyana en Barbados y un representante de los familiares de las víctimas guyanesas.
Asistieron a la actividad, además, representantes del gobierno y parlamentarios, el cuerpo diplomático, miembros de la Asociación de Cubanos Residentes, de la Asociación de Amistad, el Movimiento de Solidaridad Guyana–Cuba y colaboradores que prestan sus servicios en el país.
El tributo rendido en la tarja ubicada en la sede de la Embajada de Cuba en Guyana que recuerda a las víctimas del crimen, también constituyó homenaje en el “Día de las Víctimas del terrorismo”,

President of Guyana and Cuban ambassador raise their voices to condemn terrorism on the 41st Anniversary of the Crime of Barbados.
Georgetown, October 6, 2017. The President of the Cooperative Republic of Guyana, David Arthur Granger reiterated his firm condemnation of international terrorism, in a solemn ceremony commemorating the 41st Anniversary of Crime in Barbados, held at the Memorial erected to the victims at the University of Guyana in Georgetown.
The Cuban Ambassador, Julio César González Marchante, on behalf of his government and people, reaffirmed the unwavering Cuban will to fight terrorism and highlighted the demand to bring an end to the impunity that the terrorist responsible for the midair explosion of Cubana de Aviación aircraft the 6 of October of 1976 continues to enjoy, which killed 73 people.
The Dignitary and the ambassador of Cuba laid wreaths at the Memorial to the Fallen.So did the honorary consul of Guyana in Barbados and a representative of the families of the Guyanese victims.
Also present at the commemoration were representatives of the government and parliamentarians, the diplomatic corps, members of the Association of Cuban Residents, the Friendship Association and the Guyana-Cuba Solidarity Movement and collaborators who serve in the country.
Also, the tribute rendered at the plaque located at the Mission of the Cuban Embassy to Guyana, which reminds of the victims of the crime, was a symbol of homage to the “Victims of Terrorism Day”
